The WHO says compulsively playing video games now qualifies as a mental health condition. The classification could help to identify those who are hooked on video games. Addicted young gamers often don’t seek help themselves. Many doctors welcomed the new classification. It comes amid the ongoing debate on the link between gun violence and video games. President Trump believes that violent games can negatively affect young minds. He wants industry leaders to address the issue. More than half of the 50 top-selling games are violent. At least 14 mass school shooters have been linked to playing violent video games.
