On October 29th, the FDA authorized Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for kids 5 to 11 years old. Dr. Eric Rubin, who is a member of the FDA’s vaccine advisory panel said before the decision, “We’re never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it. That’s just the way it goes. That’s how we found out about rare complications of other vaccines.” Rep. Greg Murphy, the only practicing physician in Congress responded, “That is literally the most dangerous statement I’ve ever heard in medicine. How’s that going to sit with the average mom, the average parent that cares about their child?” San Francisco plans to mandate COVID-19 vaccination-soon for children as young as 5.
