Woodturning: Live Edge Maple Burl & Ziricote

Adamsen Woodcraft
Thanks for watching!  This is my second filmed project, and it was a challenging piece.  I have been woodturning since January 2019 and I am entirely self-taught, unless learning from other YouTubers counts.  For some reason, the ziricote wood kept chipping, and I had to keep rethinking the shape.  The inside of the maple burl hollowform is not sanded, but finished (as shown) with a thick coat of Howard Beeswax and Orange oil.  At around minute 14:00, I sped up the footage in some cuts to around 1000%-1500%, since the finial took around 3 hours to complete.  The chip in the base of the finial happened so close to the chuck that I was afraid of damaging either the chuck or the finial if I used CA glue with shavings to fill it.  Lessons learned...
