After months of planning, set backs and lockdowns, the time has finally come. WE ARE OUT OF HERE!!! https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode, we have been struggling with the officials in trying to get our dog Marley exported from Malaysia to our home country Australia. After months of failed attempts and continuos set backs, we have the green light for our pet t travel With Marley ready to leave, We are off! Bonita, Get the boat ready! Our 3000nm journey from Malaysia to Australia, will take us through Indonesia on our return route. First though, we have to leave the marina. After so many hardships and a year spent in preparing to leave, motoring out of the marina was an emotional experience. Reaching the first anchorage only a few miles away felt like a massive achievement. We are off and let the adventure begin!! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across to South Africa once cyclone season had finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean once again, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We have just completed our second major refit and Nandji is nearly ready for the long journey ahead of Sailing to Australia for summer!
