EMERGENCY KIT FOR YOUR CAR IN WINTER

Mark Liu
Driving in the winter can be challenging. Here are a few tips on how to stay safe on the roads. First, have the right supplies in your car. "the most important items to have in your car are anything that will keep you warm. some gloves, wool socks, hand warmers," says Isaiah Hartman from Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue. Blankets can be handy on the move. "If it's really cold you can use them to insulate your car, put them in the windows helps prevent the cold air from getting in," says Isaiah. And don’t forget to take cell phone charger and flashlight, alongside extra batteries, with you. Second, make sure you are prepared for the cold-weather. Here’s a few things from AAA that’ll help you to ensure your car is ready. Make sure the battery is in good condition and clear of corrosion, and make sure the tire treads are not worn out. Install snow tires if needed. Check all lights and signals are working, and check the brakes are in fine working order. It’s your car, take care of it. You won’t regret helping everyone to stay safe on the wintry road.
