US announces 15 indictments against Mexican drug cartel
"We consider this Cartel, New Jalisco, to be one of the five most dangerous trans-national criminal organizations on the face of the earth." Jeff Sessions, an attorney general said on Oct. 16.
The US justice, treasury, and state departments announced a joint effort aimed at dismantling a Mexican cartel. The drug enforcement agency estimates the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion controls about 75% of the territory in Mexico and is expanding in the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
The DOJ unsealed indictments against 15 alleged members of the Cartel, as the state department is doubling its reward for information leading to arrests of cartel members from five million to 10 million dollars.
