Caravan leaves Cordoba in Veracruz state to reach Mexico City shelter

2018-11-05 23:29
Central American migrants continued their march northward on Monday (November 05) from the city of Cordoba in Veracruz, aiming to reach Mexico City later today as they seem undeterred by renewed threats from U.S. President Donald Trump. They are heading towards Mexico City where they expect to arrive this evening to take up temporary shelter at a sports stadium. More than 1,000 Central Americans, many fleeing gang violence and financial hardship in their home countries, are already staying at the stadium where the city government set up medical aid and food kitchens.
