Yu Wensheng, a human rights lawyer from Beijing, has been detained for nearly 1,000 days. On August 14, his defense lawyer for the second trial, Lu Sih-Wei, was able to meet with Yu Wensheng in the detention center in Xuzhou City for the first time. Yu’s wife, Xu Yan, indicated that Yu is experiencing some health-related problems and that she demanded the detention center to provide a haircut and dental treatment, but she was not given a reply.
