Australia to fund $1.35 billion for cyber security

On Tuesday, the Australian government announced a further $1.35 billion (Australian dollars) in funding to boost cyber security, and created over 500 new jobs at the Australian Signals Directorate. This is the largest single investment in cyber security in Australia's history. Australia’s Minister for Defence Linda Reynolds: ”Today, myself and the prime minister have announced that we are making the largest single investment in cyber security in Australia’s history.” On Tuesday, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Australian Defence Minister Linda Reynolds attended a large conference. Reynolds stated that the government will allocate $1.35 billion to enhance cyber security.
