Europe to More Actively Counter Beijing

The European Union is playing a more active role in global affairs to rival Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative. European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen announced Tuesday a project called Global Gateway. She said the EU needs to become a "more active global player" in this era of "hyper-competitiveness."
