“Zhuan Falun” - A Chronology

2018-06-14 23:36
“Zhuan Falun” is the main text of the Chinese spiritual practice Falun Gong. Its nine chapters are based on Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi’s nine-day lecture seminars that were popular in China. The book is centered around Falun Gong’s core principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.” “Zhuan Falun” was first published in December 1994 by a Chinese state-run publishing house. In early 1996, “Zhuan Falun” was a best-seller in Beijing. “Zhuan Falun” was eventually banned in China after the Chinese Communist Party feared it had become more popular than Party ideology. To meet public demand, the book was widely pirated and distributed by underground booksellers. From 2008 to 2009, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners from around the world gathered in Taiwan and formed the cover of the “Zhuan Falun” to express their gratitude to Mr. Li Hongzhi for bringing “Zhuan Falun” to millions of people worldwide. “Zhuan Falun” has been translated into 40 languages, making it the most widely translated Chinese book of all time. “Zhuan Falun” is available for free online at falundafa.org.
