It is the representative work of the late well-known Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng (鄧麗君). It is composed by Tony Weng (翁清溪)and lyrics by Sun Yi(孫儀). Tony Weng studied at the Berkeley Conservatory of Music in Boston, USA when he was 38. During that period, he often sought creative inspiration in the park near the campus. He will write down his experience immediately when he got some inspiration. When he returns to Taiwan he will select the songs that he thinks are good then give them to his friend the writer Sun Yi. Sun Yi will fill in the lyrics, then the whole song is completed. Originally, 《The Moon Represents My Heart》was a song that Tony Weng felt disqualified and was ready to discard, but Sun Yi accidentally discovered it in many works to be discarded. Sun Yi was surprised that this was a good song and left it behind. He filled in the words for it, thus the song 《The Moon Represents My Heart》was able to appear in front of us. This song was firstly sung by Taiwanese singer Chen, Fen-Lan (陳芬蘭). After being re-performed by Teresa Teng in 1977, this song was widely circulated. In addition to Taiwan, it was also covered by numerous Chinese and foreign singers. It has become one of the most popular Chinese songs in Chinese society and even in the world. The English translation of its lyrics is as follows： “You asked how deep I feel for you and how much I love you. I’m always true and my love is real. The moon represents my heart.
