Police officers surrounded an apartment in West Hollywood during a standoff with an armed man which lasted several hours on Tuesday, August 21.
The man, who allegedly fired shots, barricaded himself inside the apartment on Doheny Drive.
Police blocked off the road before detonating flash-bang grenades and using a loudspeaker to ask the man to surrender, KTLA reported. They eventually used a “chemical agent” in order to obtain entry and arrested the man at about 5.30pm, the report said.
A spokesman for Los Angeles County Sheriff West Hollywood confirmed police had detained the suspect, tweeting: “Suspect has been taken into custody safely… without incident.”
