DAILY Ferret Bonding Routine | Ferret Care

Here is a routine I put together to go with our other bonding video: https://youtu.be/2maPwp9-M3Q DISCLAIMER: This is an example routine I put together to show that even those with a busy schedule (work/school) can make time to bond with their ferret. Ferrets for Dummies (as well as ferret.org) recommends your ferret spends a minimum of 4 hours per day outside of the cage. More is better! Many ferret owners let their ferret free roam all day, instead of putting them in a cage at all. There are aspects of this routine that work for us, that may not work for you. There may even be ways we can improve this routine later on. The point is to tailor it for your lifestyle in order to increase the time you spend sharing space and safe activities with your ferret. The Routine in the video (AM): 6:45am - Wake up and say hello to your ferret! 6:55am - Let your ferret explore while you clean their litter box, play with your ferret in an active way (cat wand toys work great) 7:05am - Bring your ferret into the bathroom while you get ready for school/work 7:30am - Make yourself and your ferret breakfast, eat at the same time (ferret does not need to eat at table like in the video, it's just a silly joke!) 8:00am - Rearrange your ferret's cage (or ferret room) with new enrichment items or toys to get them mentally engaged while you are gone Routine After Work (PM): 6:00pm - Say hi to your ferret, wait to poop, let out of cage/ ferret room 6:15pm - Take your ferret with you to get the mail! 6:30pm - Play with your ferret in a high energy way! 6:45pm - Fix dinner with your ferret close by 7:00pm - Eat dinner with your ferret and talk to them 7:30pm - Groom your ferret with a wet wash cloth, or just practice holding and petting them 7:45-10:00pm - Let your ferret free roam, provide enrichment around the house 10:00pm - Put your ferret to bed and say goodnight! 🎥 Other Resources To Watch: ➡️ How to Ferret-Proof Your Room: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J20yXwrybG0&t=18s ➡️ Ferret Training by Joey the Trained Ferret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C87Cx7cHtAo&t=26s ➡️ How to Optimize a Ferret's Home Life: COMING SOON!
