19 Years Later, New Yorkers Remember Historic April 25 Appeal in China

Nearly 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners from the New York area gathered on April 22. To mark the 19th anniversary of the peaceful demonstration on April 1999. On that day an estimated 10,000 practitioners silently gathered to appeal for their rights to practice their faith in a safe environment. Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline. The parade in NY, and others around the world help to raise awareness about the brutal persecution ordered by former Chinese communist leader, Jiang Zemin.
