New US Bill Counters China in South China Sea

On Tuesday, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations passed a new bill. It aims to counter China's expansive maritime claims in the South and East China Seas. The bill would impose sanctions on Chinese officials and entities that help Beijing assert territorial claims in the two seas—for example through island-building or military aggression.
