Trump’s Approval Rating at Record High, According to Poll

President Trump’s approval ratings shot upward before the midterm elections. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll gave him a record-high 47 percent overall approval rating. In previous months, it hovered between 44 and 46 percent.
Trump’s current approval rating is two points higher than what President Barack Obama had in the same poll during the same period in his presidency.
Trump’s is also at an all-time low, at 49 percent.
Pollsters are looking disapproval rateat Trump’s favorability as a weather vane for the midterm elections, especially in states where elections are contested.
Trump has been traveling the country to campaign for Republican congressional candidates for the past several weeks. Historically, the presidential party takes a hit in the midterms after the first presidential election. Trump looks to reverse that trend.
