Woman Discovers Ultra-Cute Animal Licking Her Bike Pedal—But What Is It

Petr Svab
A cyclist in Western Australia found an adorable furry fellow trying to snack on her bike pedal on March 4. But can you recognize what animal it is? The footage was recorded by Shannon Ducker, who said she came across the animal as she cycled around Rottnest Island. The animal is quokka, a herbivore the size of a cat. It walks on rear legs like a kangaroo and lives in Western Australia and on Rottnest and Bald islands off Western Australia coast. Quokkas don't shy away from people, but the government forbids feeding or handling them under hefty fines. Ducker told Storyful that she found some figs on her shoes and the quokka must have been attracted to the smell of them on her pedals. Credit: Shannon Ducker via Storyful
