Water out of thin air: California couple's device wins $1.5M
A California couple built a machine that creates
cheap, clean water out of thin air.
David Hertz and Laura Doss-Hertz then entered it
in the XPrize For Water Abundance competition.
The couple and their partner won
the $1.5 million prize on Oct. 24.
They used shipping containers, wood chips, and
other cheap supplies to draw water from the air.
The machine produces as much as 528 gallons
of water a day for no more than 2 cents a quart.
