Kuting Feng
A flight out of Xiamen, China, made a hard landing at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport on the evening of August 16. The Boeing 737-800, landing after a flight from Xiamen "went off the runway during a heavy downpour," said Connie Bungag, the officer in charge of Manila International Airport Authority's (MIAA) public affairs office. None of the 157 passengers and 8 crew members on the flight, XiamenAir 8667, were injured despite the landing, the airline confirmed in a post on its Weibo page. Xiamen Air is a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines. Part of the clip, originally posted to Weibo by a passenger who said that she was in the plane and shaken by the experience, shows a brief glimpse of the bumpy landing.
