Pope Francis travel to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, celebrated the Holy Mass at one of the oldest and most popular pilgrimage sites in North America, drawing more than a million visitors to the site (including an annual Indigenous pilgrimage) each year. Organizers anticipate between 10,000 and 15,000 guests may attend with space for guests both inside and outside the church. A viewing of the Mass will also be offered (no ticket required) from the Plains in Quebec City. This is a public event with limited capacity inside the Shrine reserved for Indigenous participants and other special guests. Seating was allocated for survivors, Elders and knowledge keepers has been provided to National Indigenous Organizations (NIO’s), Catholic dioceses traveling with survivors and other Indigenous partners. A limited number of general admission spaces (outside). It was also attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, Premiere of Quebec François Legault. The Pope made a appearance to all the crowd outside of the Church when he arrive before the Mass.
