A Minimalist Interior That Gives a Lesson in Tiny Apartment Design - An Architect's Home ep02
The Design Emotive
0 Followed
Architect Douglas Wan wanted something simple for his own tiny apartment, avoiding the fancy gadgetry often found in tiny homes. He thought about how he might want to live in the apartment, with the idea of living a monastic life but in the city.
Douglas completely transformed the existing interior and layout of the 28sqm (301sqft) apartment, removing load-bearing walls and adding a steel beam so he had a floor plate completely free so he could reorganise how he pleased. Douglas used plywood throughout, giving a sense of warmth and softness to the interior, and a floating platform that becomes his bedroom, dining area and living space.
