ABOUT NINJUTSU AND NINPO

Rick's Ninja Kids Dojo
術 Jutsu or 道 dou? Let's take Jujutsu and Judo[u]; Great Grandmaster Kano Jigoro (Japanese educator, athlete, and the founder of Judo) developed Judo in 1882 from JuJutsu. Great Grandmaster Ueshiba Morihei developed Aikido[u] from Aikijutsu in the 1930's. Many people say they do or teach Ninjutsu (I don't); The last living Ninja, Hatsumi Masaaki has been teaching Ninpo[u]. He has taught some Ninjutsu yet he sometimes says Budou others Ninpou and sometimes Ninjutsu. Hatsumi Sensei, along with Kano Sensei and Ueshiba Sensei are considered 3 of the top Masters of Japanese Budo[u] of the 20th Century. I live / learn, practice and teach Ninpou. Modern Ninpou can be described as a conjunction of knowledge and experiences that lead the practitioner to understand and experience life using the legacy of thousands of people who were known as “The Ninja”. 忍辱 Ninniku in Buddhism refers to the spirit of perseverance (also known as the Spirit of the Ninja).
