House Passes Funding Bill to Avoid Shutdown

Congress, yet again, is forced to act to avoid a government shutdown because lawmakers have failed to come to an agreement to pass a bill that would fund the government all year. The House just took the first step and Senate Leader Chuck Schumer is prepared to move quickly to get it to Biden's desk. The temporary bill will fund the government through March 11. After that, Congress will have to address the same issue again. This is the third time Congress has had to pass a temporary extension.
