In Colorado, a community farm is keeping the environment in mind, with chickens tilling soil rather than traditional farming equipment. OwlTree Farms is working on moving back to small localized regenerative food systems. While large-scale machine tillage improves short-term soil fertility, it speeds up erosion and soil runoff. Chickens' tilling the soil removes the need for machines and the negative impacts the machines create.
