The monumental concrete roof is a shell structure supported by thick columns inside the walls. A gap underneath allows a hint of light to pass through into the interior. Modern Balai reimagines houses into both modern yet vernacular/native in design. Bringing the small modern house to the next level with its improved materials and design elements fit for the modern day. Small house is also considered making it low-cost without sacrificing its aesthetics. Inspired by raw elements, adapting to the 20th century setting that is cost-efficient yet resilient and sustainable in design.
