Woodturning: From Siberia with Pink

This is my 22nd filmed project, and it was chosen based on an Instagram poll out of 3 upcoming projects. I hope you enjoyed this one. I find that I gravitate to the more artsy side of woodturning. This piece of Siberian Elm burl was very dry, and due to all the voids and holes, it would have been impossible to use wax and high friction without getting pieces of disintegrated paper towel stuck in the piece. So I ended up sanding to 600-800 and applying multiple coats of oil before letting it sit overnight. It is a fairly rustic piece, and I hope the finial complements it well. In hindsight, I should have ripped that piece of pink ivory a few times in order to save that precious material, but I had a plan for the shape that required the full diameter of the blank.
