This Compact Heritage Home Among the Leaves Has Been Transformed

The Design Emotive
Located on a leafy street in Melbourne's Middle Park sits a heritage home, with an awkward layout that didn't work. Architects Rob and Kate of McMahon and Nerlich transformed the home, adding a little bit more floor area (within heritage controls), as well as a roof deck. The interiors have been kept simple, with timbers, concrete and contrasting blacks as the main palette. The kitchen reads as a visual statement, with the black island bench and splashback, timber joinery and the powder room to one side, and the stairs on the other. Check out our website for the floor plans, photography and written article to come; Check out our merch store and pick up something to help support the channel; See more of McMahon and Nerlich Website - Website - Join the mailing list to have episodes delivered straight to your inbox every fortnight; For More from The Design Emotive Website - Instagram - Pinterest - Facebook - Twitter - Mailing list - Patreon - Merchandise - For business inquires, advertising, sponsorship, etc, visit and fill out the form.
