IMPROVE YOUR COPPERPLATE | COPPERPLATE VARIATIONS X PAUL ANTONIO - PART 5

Calligraphy Masters
@PAScribe - Pressing on in my research into the documents I have in the studio focussing on English Roundhand Majuscule variations. The thing that I have really come to appreciate is how tiny, really subtle alterations in line approach, placement of pressure or adding a tapered shape dramatically changes the letters. The other thing I have become acutely aware of is a shocking number of letter shapes we have discarded over the past 300 years. The information a soft 6B pencil conveys is a horse of a different colour to writing with a fine nib. This is a hunt22b I am thinking of switching to a Gillott 303 but I feel more line variability may add more complexity to the execution of the letters. @pascribe @tncaligrafia This will be an ongoing series to help get you interested in the shapes we have in English Roundhand but also in the hopes that it will encourage you to do some historical research.
