Labour Gains Key London Councils

Labour gained key London seats from the Conservatives in the local elections. They took control of Westminster City Council, which has been run by the Tories since it was created in 1964. Labour also won the councils of Barnet—for the first time in nearly 50 years—and Wandsworth. But their gains outside of London appear to be modest. Some will see this as a sign that the Conservatives are losing relevance in the capital.
