The former operations director of a Chinese real estate company says he wants to leave the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In China, many citizens, during at least one point in their lives, have joined the Chinese Communist Party or its affiliated organizations—like the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers. When joining, they make an oath not to the nation, but to the Communist Party. "Quitting the CCP" refers to separation from the party by taking back these oaths made to the regime.
