France: Top Court Approves AI Surveillance

France’s constitutional court has approved the use of controversial surveillance technology powered by artificial intelligence. A bill approved by Parliament in March paves the way for authorities to use real-time video surveillance tech that employs facial recognition and biometric features on a large scale. Cameras will automatically recognize body positions, gaits, and gestures.
