Lowered Police Standards After Defunding, BLM Lead to Incidents Like Nichols’ Death: Barrington Martin II

Memphis police have confirmed that two more officers have been disciplined in connection with Tyre Nichols’s death. That brings the total number of disciplined officers to seven. NTD spoke to Barrington Martin II, a former congressional candidate from Georgia and host of The Barrington Report, for his view of the policing culture pertaining to race in this country. Martin said that the "defund the police" movement ostracized police, thus deterring the most qualified officers from the force. “Some of the best people in the world for the job do not want the job because of that. And now, you have police departments all over the country lowering their standards, and we get incidents like this,” Martin said.
