CHOPIN Etude opus 25 n2 | Nicolas BALDEYROU

Nicolas BALDEYROU
Dear Friends, as I got many demands, today’s video is a new Chopin study ! I chose to play the Etude opus 25 n2 sometimes known as « the bees » and it’s a very special one for me as it was the only one I could (badly) play during my piano studies 😁 it may sound easy on the piano but it’s surprisingly tricky for the legato, the thumb work and the global polyrythm between the two hands. What I found really interesting is that you get almost the same difficulties on the clarinet ! Synchronisation between the two hands, legato control, working on not raising the fingers to save energy and gain precision, equilibrating registers and finally trying to reach a good tempo approaching my favorite version by Maurizio Pollini 😅 I chose to set the action in George Sand’s house in Nohant where Chopin spent a lot of time, I hope you can imagine the composer writing some of his greatest masterpieces within these walls. As I often get questions about my clarinets (which I don’t own unfortunately) and setups, here are all informations : - 1st clarinet Buffet prototype in mopani (Vandoren BD5, V12 3,5 reed, Vandoren Optimum ligature) - 2nd clarinet Buffet Légende in boxwood - Bass clarinet Buffet Tosca 1195R (Vandoren B40, V12 3,5 reeds, Vandoren Optimum ligature). I hope you'll like it and don't hesitate to give me ideas 😁 Take care and stay safe! ❤️ #wearebuffet #buffetlegende #buffettosca #bassclarinet #contrabassclarinet #mopani #boxwood #vandoren #vandorenreeds #vandorenmouthpieces #BD4 #chopin #chopinetude
