In France, with only nine votes short, the Parliament on Monday rejected a no-confidence vote against the government after a heated debate. The motions were filed after lawmakers were furious that President Emmanuel Macron used special constitutional powers to force through an unpopular pension reform bill. Now, as the reform can go ahead, unions have called for more protests and there might be political consequences for the president.
