Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promises to put “fairness at the heart” of the autumn budget, as he contemplates up to 50 billion pounds ($58 billion) of spending cuts and tax rises to fill a black hole in the nation’s finances. The Northern Ireland secretary has announced he will call an election to the Stormont Assembly after the failure to restore devolution.  In a U-turn on Liz Truss’s energy plans, Rishi Sunak this week said he’ll restore the fracking ban.
