Coffee and tea are among life’s simple pleasures! So it’s good to know that both are perfectly fine for keto diets as long as you’re careful about what you add to them. If you’re trying to lose weight, stay away from fatty coffee and tea with butter or MCT oil. Drink these black and unsweetened, or use a non-sugar sweetener with a small amount of cream, half & half, unsweetened nut milk, or even regular milk. (Regular milk is okay if you only use a little bit.)
Obviously, you’ll want to avoid the pastries and sweets, and here’s a tip that surprises people: if you order iced coffee, make sure it’s unsweetened! A popular coffee chain in the US pre-sweetens their iced coffee with sugar, so be certain that you order it unsweetened and add your non-sugar sweetener of choice.
