Canada Expresses Concern Over Suppression in Communist Cuba

Foreign Affairs Minister Garneau spoke with his Cuban counterpart and expressed Canada’s deep concern over the violent crackdown on protests in Cuba on July 23. Prior to Garneau’s statement, hundreds of demonstrators gathered on Parliament Hill to replicate the protests that happened in Cuba and denounce the Communist Cuban regime’s suppression on peaceful protesters, journalists and activists, and arbitrary detention.
