Times Square Billboard Sparks Legal Battle

N
NTD Videos
Daughter to the President, Ivanka Trump and White House Senior Advisor Jared Kushner have gotten themselves in a civil dispute with The Lincoln Project. It's over a billboard in Times Square bashing the couple in relation to the virus pandemic. One of the billboards appears to show Ivanka Trump smiling and gesturing to a virus deathcount of Americans and New Yorkers. In the other billboard, Kushner is shown next to a quote saying, “[New Yorkers] are going to suffer and that’s their problem.” Trump and Kushner's lawyer wrote in a letter saying, "Of course, Mr. Kushner never made any such statement, Ms. Trump never made any such gesture, and the Lincoln Project’s representations that they did are an outrageous and shameful libel." Reports say the image of Ivanka Trump on the billboard was taken from a picture she posted on her social media. In that picture, she's seen holding a can of Goya beans. Reports also say Kushner's quote was taken out of context from a Vanity Fair article, and that it was given to the magazine by an anonymous attendee. According to their lawyer's letter, if the billboards are not immediately removed, they will sue for enormous compensatory and punitive damages. The Lincoln Project responded by saying they will not be intimidated.
