A 15-year-old boy in DeBary, Florida was to be charged with the murder of his mother after police obtained his “full and detailed confession”, Volusia County Police said on November 3. Gregory Logan Ramos confessed to strangling 46-year-old Gail Cleavenger in her bed at their family home on Thursday, November 1. He then used a wheelbarrow to load her into a van and bury her in a fire pit at River City Church. Her body was located by detectives in the early hours of Saturday morning. Dylan Ceglarek and Brian Porras, both 17-years-old, were also taken into custody and charged after Ramos said they helped him stage a burglary at the house. Sheriff Mike Chitwood said the murder was likely a result of rage that came after a dispute over Ramos’ grades. “The case we worked tonight was one of the most disturbing and saddest I’ve seen in my career. I have a feeling this is a case we’ll be hearing about for years to come. All our hearts break for this family,” said Chitwood.
