Tractor-Trailer Slams Fire Truck, Killing One

Maggie Ren
A tractor-trailer slammed into the back of a fire truck at a Virginia highway crash site on Oct. 11. One firefighter was killed at the scene and two more severely injured in Hanover County. The tractor-trailer driver was also badly injured. The cause of the crash is not clear—the fire truck at the time had all its emergency lights on. The truck driver was charged with reckless driving and cited for faulty brakes. Hurricane Michael had dumped heavy rain in the area according to Virginia police.
