Recently, the Communist regime imposed a draconian lockdown policy on cities hit hard by the pandemic like Shulan and Jilin. Local businesses are completely closed. People living in the new epicenters experience the same situation as Wuhan residents under lockdown—a lot of hardship amidst officials’ claim of keeping the virus “under control.” The interview was conducted on May 19 by Xiong Bin of the Chinese-language Epoch Times. On May 16, the mayor of Shulan claimed that prices are under control, supplies are abundant, medical aids were shipped in, and local residents are in good hands. However, The Epoch Times learned that the truth is very different.
