Michigan Beachgoers Form Human Chains to Rescue Swimmers, As 2 Drown in Rough Waves
Human chains were formed by beachgoers to rescue swimmers caught in strong currents in Lake Michigan on Sunday (August 5).
Emergency crews were called at noon to reports of swimmers struggling on the eastern shore of the lake at Grand Haven State Park.
Police officers from the Grand Haven Police Department arrived at the scene to find bystanders attempting to rescue a man who had been dragged by a rip current.
