The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, is a series of editorials published in November 2004 by the Epoch Times newspaper. First in Chinese, then in English. Today, the series has spread worldwide as a book. It’s available in at least 33 languages, and it’s inspired a set of TV documentaries as well. The Nine Commentaries is openly critical of the Chinese Communist Party or CCP, and it’s use of brutality to rule over the Chinese people. It reveals the CCP’s true history, a history that Chinese text books and government propaganda have buried for decades—the systematic use of torture and brainwashing, the billions of dollars spent on labor camps and the cover up of mass murder. Within a few weeks of publication in Chinese, the Epoch Times began getting statements from Chinese citizens saying they wanted to withdraw from the CCP. As more statements came in, the Epoch Times started publishing that. This led to what's now called the Tuidang Movement, or the withdrawing from the party movement. Today more than 270 million Chinese people have withdrawn or renounced their affiliation with the CCP.
