Master Li hong zhi_did you know

Celeste Li
Mr. Li Hongzhi was born on May 13, 1951 in Jilin province, China. From a young age, he was trained as a disciple in “Falun Xiulian Dafa,” an ancient qigong practice to cultivate mind and body. After several decades of arduous training, Mr. Li had reached a high level of both skill and spiritual insight. At that point, he decided to introduce the practice to the general public. After thorough preparation, on May 13th, 1992, Mr. Li introduced this practice to the public, calling it “Falun Gong.” Falun Gong spread quickly in China, as practitioners shared accounts of remarkable physical and mental benefits from the practice. Practitioners respectfully call him “Master Li,” a traditional title for a qigong teacher in China. Master Li received numerous awards from Chinese state institutions for his work alleviating illnesses across China. In 1995, the Chinese Embassy in France invited Master Li to travel to Paris to give a workshop. Master Li and Falun Gong have continued to enjoy widespread popularity—despite the Chinese Communist Party’s campaign to smear him since 1999. From 2000 to 2003, Master Li Hongzhi was nominated four times for the Nobel Peace Prize. He has received hundreds of awards and recognitions worldwide, including recognition as an “Outstanding Spiritual Leader” by the Asia-Pacific Human Rights Foundation. He is ranked among one of the “Top 100 Living Geniuses”, a list compiled by the global consulting firm, Creators Synectics. Today, as many as 100 million people worldwide practice Falun Gong and live by its principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance” (Zhen, Shan, Ren).
