Crowd at Ballgame Sings National Anthem After Announcement of 'No Anthem'-teaser

The crowd at a ballgame in California initially booed when an announcement was made that there would be no national anthem played. The "Star-Spangled Banner" typically plays before every sports game across the United States, whether it's a professional or school-level game. The announcement happened before a high school softball championship game at Fresno State's Margie Wright Diamond on Friday night. After initially booing, the crowd took it upon themselves to sing the anthem. "We came to CIF D1 section championship game between Clovis and Buchanan and the announcer said 'there will be no national anthem,'" wrote Tiffany Marquez on Facebook. "After some booing, the whole stadium stood up and started singing it on their own." She posted footage of the crowd singing the anthem, which has garnered more than half-a-million views and tens of thousands of reactions. The players on the field appeared to engage as well, standing at attention on the field and facing the centerfield flag.
