Memphis boy, 9, killed in charter bus crash identified
The fatality in a bus crash in Arkansas that left
dozens injured was identified as Kameron Johnson.
The 9-year-old and nearly 50 other youth football
players were en route to Memphis from Texas.
Johnson was in the third grade at Aspire Coleman
Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee.
“Full of life, energy, [and] potential,” Aspire Public
Schools Supt. Nickalous Manning said of Johnson.
The charter bus carrying the players went off
the roadway early Monday and flipped four times.
One player said he woke up to see blood everywhere.
“Everybody was bleeding,” he said.
Some of the players suffered broken bones
while others needed stitches for deep gashes.
