Indonesian teenager survives 49 days adrift at sea in fishing hut
A teenager drifted for 49 days, and over 1,600
miles on the Pacific Ocean.
Aldi Adilang’s fishing hut had been torn
from its moorings in Indonesia in mid-July.
Adilang, 19, is finally back with his family
after a dramatic rescue and detour via Japan.
10 ships sailed past the tiny fishing hut before
one finally caught his radio signal near Guam.
An exhausted Adilang had to swim the last yards
to safety as high seas hampered the rescue.
