President Won’t Apologize For Protecting American Workers, says Sarah Sanders

Smira Bouaou
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders answered a question about President Trump’s plan to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports at the press briefing on Mar. 1. Fox News Radio’s John Decker asked Sanders about her comments on Senator Ben Sasse’s statement. Sasse earlier accused Trump of imposing a massive tax increase. He stated: "Let's be clear: The President is proposing a massive tax increase on American families. Protectionism is weak, not strong. You'd expect a policy this bad from a leftist administration, not a supposedly Republican one." In response to Sasse’s statement, Sanders said, “I don’t know that the president will or should ever apologize for protecting American workers.” “And certainly not to Senator Sasse.”
