3 dead, 8 injured after pickup truck hits spike strip and flips during high-speed chase with Border Patrol
A pickup truck went airborne and flipped over
near the U.S.-Mexico border, killing 3.
It was carrying 11 people during a high-speed
chase with Border Patrol agents.
Border Patrol agents attempted to stop the white
Chevrolet Silverado but the driver refused.
Border Patrol agents deployed a spike strip and
the driver lost control as the truck went airborne.
Three people in the truck died, including the only
female of the group, while 8 were injured.
Only the driver was wearing a seatbelt. 8 people
were riding unrestrained in the bed of the truck.
The driver was identified as a United States
citizen and was among the injured.
